"share-a-chair" is a sitting accomodation consisting of two mirror-image parts which can be used together forming one "whole" chair by one person or apart by two persons - each individual sitting on half a chair.

When friends come together and there are not enough sitting accomodations, people often share their chairs with another person - two individuals sitting in one chair. But as a chair is usually designed and intended for one person only it is not a very comfortable sitting position. By splitting a chair into two parts and putting the pieces apart, everybody has a more comfortable sitting position even if it is no "whole" chair.

Als er wenig mensen aanwezig zijn kan een person op de twee helften zitten maar als daar meer mensen zijn kunnen twee personen de stoel onder elkaar deelen en iedereen heeft een eigen apart helft om te zitten.
