conceptQuestioning ObjectsWith my designs I want to ask people questions when they look at it. If only I rise a question in their mind or they discuss it with somebody else, I get a feeling of satisfaction.This brings me to the key question of my project: Why do things look as do ? Who has taught us that they should look the way they do and why do we never question that ? Have we forgotten to look at everyday objects that surround us? Is questioning their appearance stressful or a threat to the confidence and safety of our personal space? Why do we never question why a a cup or a chair look the way they do? My aim is to raise these questions by designing products with a logical flaw. This Is done by leaving out essential elements or taking away or changing it’s functionality. The question to be answered then is if these product will still be appealing. Do you still recognize it? Hopefully the design raises the right questions in some people and make them aware of what they are looking at. |
